Meridian Environmental Co. (Meridian) was originally founded in 1998 and operated until 2007, then was reopened in 2014 to provide environmental, geologic and hydrogeologic services, along with construction management to our clients.
Meridian was founded on precise evaluation, innovative solutions and client satisfaction. Collaboration and communication are our tenants; without these fundamentals, we have seen that a project will likely encounter unnecessary challenges.
With an 85% repeat client base, Meridian is constantly told that our responsiveness and willingness to "think outside the box" in resolving environmental, geologic and hydrogeologic challenges are key.

Founder and Principal
Jim
Jim is the Principal, President and Owner of Meridian Environmental Co. With 36 years of of professional experience as an environmental consultant and general contractor, Jim has developed a broad knowledge of the coordination and implementation of activities that evaluate and resolve environmental, geologic and hydrogeologic challenges in all phases of property transfers, development and redevelopment.
Jim is directly involved in the preparation and implementation of Federal and State regulatory requirements for contamination assessments, remedial action plans and corrective action plans. He has experience in the assessment and remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon and hazardous waste contamination. Jim has performed soil and groundwater investigations in the Southeast, Midwest and along the Eastern Seaboard. The assessment and remediation process has involved Jim in a variety of sites ranging from corner service stations to Superfund sites. He has developed work plans, health & safety plans, risk assessments and remedial plans to evalaute and mitigate impacts to soil and groundwater. He also has extensive experience in the environmental construction activities of UST removal and installation, AST installation and remedial system construction, operation and maintenance. Jim's construction experience also reaches out to reclamation and closure of orphaned mine sites, along with erosion and sediment control practices required during site development and restoration activities.
Jim is a Professional Geologist in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia. He is also the designated person for Meridian's Virginia Class A Contractor's License with Building (BLD) and Environmental (ENV) designations.
